New Institute of Lutheran Theology Partnership

As of fall 2023, ILT’s undergraduate Christ College will be partnering with Mount Carmel Ministries to provide a Christian residential campus experience.  ILT shares that “this partnership means that Christ College students can live at Mount Carmel while earning a degree from Christ College. They will live among a community of Christian students in which they will be supported in their Christian faith.” Mount Carmel has its origins Scandinavian Lutheranism and the Lutheran Bible Institute founded in 1919. In keeping with the Reformation emphasis on Christ Alone, Mount Carmel Ministries emphasizes “Jesus Only.”

Update on ATS Accreditation at the Institute of Lutheran Theology

Just wanted to give an exciting update on the Institute of Lutheran Theology (ILT), where I serve as a professor. ILT is currently accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education. However, ILT has also been pursuing program level accred-tation through the Association of Theological Schools (ATS). This is because, unlike the ABHE, the ATS accredits programs and not entire institutions. Feedback from ATS has been positive thus far and we looked forward to the full accreditation of “Christ School of Theology and Seminary” (CSTS) at ILT. So in the future, you’ll see a lot more of the CSTS branding. CSTS remains a part of ILT committed to “preserve, promote and propagate the classical Christian tradition from a Lutheran perspective.” This information comes from President Dennis Bielfeldt’s social media page, so be sure to follow him for up-to-date information.

Institute of Lutheran Theology Receives Large Endowment Gift for Scholarship Fund

I’m happy to report that the Institute of Lutheran Theology has received a large endowment gift for a scholarship fund. President Dennis Bielfeldt writes that “The Institute of Lutheran Theology (ILT) has received a $1,550,000 endowment gift to establish the Kathrine Grosen Memorial Scholarship Fund, a fund dedicated to addressing the growing need for Lutheran pastors in North America. The Kathrine Grosen Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established through a bequest from the estate of Knud Grosen of Great Falls, MT…. The Kathrine Grosen Memorial Scholarship Fund provides academically qualified M.Div. students renewable scholarships after completing 1/3 of their M.Div. program.” Thank you to the Grosen family for your generosity!
